My Best Friend Lambchop 🐑🐾

Hi there! It’s me Toby Keith, your good boy “real CEO” for Mugnano Data Consulting. Today I want to tell you about the greatest, fluffiest, squeakiest thing in my world: my Lambchop toy.

Love at First Bite

The very first time I saw Lambchop, I knew we were meant to be together. I took her off the T.J. Maxx shelf and put it in the cart while Mom was picking up pillows Dad said we didn’t need (Dad says I listen better than Mom, did I mention: I’m a good boy). She caught me, said some word like kleptomaniac (I assume that means “how cute”), but I gave her “the face” and she let me keep it:

Those floppy little legs, the soft fuzzy body, and ohhhh that squeaker, pure magic!

My human, Lou (aforementioned Dad), says he felt the same way the first time he worked with Greenplum. He lights up when he talks about clusters, queries, and something called analytics the way I light up when I hear Lambchop squeak.

The Daily Routine

Every day, Lambchop and I have our rituals:

  • Morning squeaks

  • Guard duty when golfers come too close to my yard (I’ve noticed some golfers are really bad at their chosen sport):

  • Naps where she’s my pillow:

Lou has his rituals too: checking Greenplum health, guarding data pipelines from bad queries, and ending his day curled up with his laptop.

The Battle Scars

Lambchop has a missing ear (or two), a squeaker that wheezes, and some stuffing on the outside instead of inside, but that just means we’ve had fun.

Lou’s Greenplum projects get battle scars too: tuning queries, fixing configs, wrestling with massive and imperfect data, but that’s what makes the victories sweeter he says.

Why We Love What We Love

Other toys come and go, but Lambchop stays. She’s family.

Other databases come and go too, but for Lou, Greenplum is home. He says it’s powerful, flexible, and built for big ideas. I don’t know what that means, but I know the look he gets when things work as he planned, it’s the same look I have when I squeak Lambchop.

A Dog’s Wish

So here’s my advice: find your Lambchop. Whether it’s a toy, a database, or a dream project, hold onto it, chew on it, and love it every single day.

Because me and Lou? We’re proof that when you find your thing, whether it’s Lambchop or Greenplum, you never let go. 🐾❤️🐑💻

P.S. Here is me showing the new pillows to Dad. Mom used me to show him the pillows because he can’t resist my cuteness, did I mention “I’m a good boy!

Bye for now 🐾
